The magazine you have in your hands is the last issue of La Cocinita that you'll be seeing for a while. Here at NuCity Publications we've decided to take a hiatus from publishing La Cocinita and focus on our sister paper, Weekly Alibi. La Cocinita has had a long and successful run (over seven years!) and we here at NuCity have learned a lot from producing this beautiful and mouth-watering magazine. But now we'd like to take what we've learned and bring it to a wider audience.

Weekly Alibi, the second largest newspaper in New Mexico, delights nearly 150,000 readers every week and is available at more than 800 locations in Albuquerque (plus a few in Santa Fe). In the coming weeks and months we'll be expanding Alibi's food section and incorporating most of La Cocinita's features. Don't worry, you'll still be able to catch up on the latest food news, read about local growers, restaurants and food events. Features like "Cool Stuff," "Home Grown" and our insightful "Forum" stories will meld beautifully in to this new, redesigned section of the Alibi.

I want to thank all of you, our loyal readers, contributors, advertisers and staff for your support, encouragement and friendship. It is you who have made this magazine possible for so long and it is you we'll count on to support this change and the other exciting new projects we have planed.
