Letters to The Editor

Dear La Cocinita,

I believe it was in spring or summer of 2000 that I read a feature on apricots and all the delightful desserts, etc., that accompanied them. I cannot find my copy anywhere and was hoping you may have a copy to send either by mail or via e-mail. I am particularly interested in a cobbler recipe containing cardamom. I truly apologize for using this medium to find the cobbler recipe but I couldn't access it using the La Cocinita magazine website.

Dear Dorothy,

I found what you were looking for hidden away in a dusty corner of our database. Scott Sharot's story "Apricots—Going for the Gold" ran in the August 2000 issue and the recipe you mention was the apricot upside-down cake with cardamom and mascarpone. I'm sorry you didn't find it at www.lacocinita.com; right now the site is only archived back to January 2002, but we'll be adding more back issues soon. In the meantime we'll post this story on the site so everyone can take advantage of this summer's apricot harvest. Thanks for being such an avid reader!

Sincerely,

Gwyneth Doland
